HISTORY REWRITTEN: Rob Minnett Scores 197 to Break Club Record

In a historic day at Collaroy Plateau Park on Saturday, club all time leading run scorer Rob Minnett plundered 197 runs to set a new individual high score record for the club.

His 13th career century and 2nd for the season topped David Moss’s score of 179, which has stood for 10 years.

On a hot day and a dry, lightning fast outfield, CPCC were astonishingly sent in to bat by Harbord Bowling Club. After opener Carden lost his leg stump second ball, it paved the way for Rob to come out and punish the Harbord attack for the remainder of the day.

Minnett’s almost chanceless innings was full of quality stroke play and hitting. Boundaries reigned supreme throughout the day, with Rob’s innings consisting of 32 fours and 1 six. He combined with Brodie Elliott (50) to add 110 for the third wicket and then Nick Johnson (62*) for a seventh wicket partnership of 122, before he was tragically dismissed a few balls prior to stumps whilst trying to bring up a double ton before the end of the day’s play.

Plateau 1st Grade finished the day on a huge 7/380 off 74.
