Bam Bam Returns to Give Towers 2nd T20 Win

The CPCC Towers have carried out a demolition of Harbord at Beverley Job in the second T20 round of the season.

The strong Towers squad was full of ex Plateau Players making appearances for the first time in a while, including Arshdeep Virdi, Deepanshu Dhiman, Nick Bonner, Alex Perry and Glynn Archer.

Harbord batted first and got off to a good start, finding themselves at 1/57 after 7 overs. With the power play restrictions lifted, the Plateau spinners put on the squeeze and wickets started to fall. The long straight boundaries proved trouble for Harbord with some key wickets falling to catches in the deep. From 4/97, CPCC were able to take the last 6 Harbord wickets for just 16 more runs. This was largely thanks to the off spin of Deepanshu Dhiman who finished with figures of 5/15 off 3.5.

Nick Bonner and Ethan Elliott opened the batting for the Towers with 114 set to win. The early signs were good for Bonner as he hit 8 off the first over the innings. A couple of wickets fell and the Plateau were 2/36 after 5. Nick then combined with Harry Brock for a partnership of 68. A number of fours and sixes rapidly brought the total into view. Harry eventually fell for 35, but the damage was done and the total was achieved after just 12.4 overs with only 4 wickets lost. Nick Bonner finished on 58 not out, his innings included 4 fours and 5 huge sixes.

The Towers are 2 wins from 2 and sit on top of the T20 Cup ladder.
