Collaroy Plateau Cricket Club The biggest park cricket club on Sydney's Northern Beaches
The duo of 7th Grade Captain Dom Wheeler & 3rd Grader Steve Albanese outlasted their more fancied rivals on Sunday at Vic Huxley Oval, to claim the prestigious Double Wicket Champions Trophy. In the Grand Final, the pair defeated Peter Bonner (7th Grade) & Will Dobbie (2nd Grade) who had just survived an epic tie breaker in their semi against 1st Grade’s Rob Minnett & junior Mitch Curran. Wheeler/Albanese had earlier defeated Col Huxley (2nds) & Ben Fudali (3rds) in the other semi. The day was a great success with the field of 24 represented almost all sections of the club. Darren McDermott deserves thanks for organising the format and draw, whilst a special thankyou goes to the partners and kids who spent a long afternoon on the sidelines under the Pavilion.
