Our defending T20 premiers have kicked off their 2015/16 campaign in a strong fashion with a comfortable victory over Dee Why.
Manly 2nd Grader and CPCC Junior Jake Carden was captain for the game. He won the toss and sent Dee Why in to bat. Wickets were hard to come by for the Plateau — almost 10 dropped catches didn’t help. The bowling was tight though, and the 8 bowlers used restricted Dee Why to just 124. Brodie Elliott took 2/12 off 2 with his improving leg spinners, Nick Armstrong took 2/17 off 3 and Jeff Porter-Denning 1/5 off 2.
Brodie then got the Plateau innings off to a good start with a quick fire 19 before a partnership of 68 between Jake Carden and Jeff ensured a CPCC victory. Jake finished on 56 not out, smashing 4 sixes in the process, and Jeff 23. The total was achieved 3 wickets down, with 5 and a half overs to spare.
The Towers play again on the 20th of December against St Augustines Old Boys at Nolans 4.
