Ogres Claim First T20 Plate In Style

A huge congratulations to our T20 Ogres side who cruised passed the Chatswood Gypsies in Sunday’s Grand Final to take out their first T20 Plate title.

CPCC last won the Plate in 2010/11 (the first time the Plate competition was held). The Ogres entered the competition the following season and have been steadily building over their 8 years to this moment.

After winning the toss and bowling first at Terrey Hills, the Ogres were able to restrict Chatswood to just 108, largely thanks to Marty Haywood’s 4/19 and Dom Wheeler’s 3/10. Openers Ciaran Sharpe and Ben Perkins then made light work of the chase. They smashed 3 sixes each and reached the total after just 11.4 overs, scoring 53 and 48 respectively.

Fantastic to hear the club song for the first time in a while (video below)!
