First Grade
It was yet another tough week for Firsts. After scrambling for players up until the very start of the match, the Plateau were able to take the field at Griffith Park with 11. Long Reef’s Singh got established and hit an unbeaten 74* in their 6/206. In reply, CPCC made a respectable 7/155, but it was not enough to stop the bonus point defeat. Rob Minnett made 45, Darryl Buchanan 24 and Anthony Papandrea 22.
There was also a couple of injuries to account for – the last thing the vastly wounded squad needed. Col Huxley suffered a broken toe whilst batting and captain Rob Minnett a broken finger. At least Rob will have some good material for the end of season injury report.
This week Firsts have a strong 11 for the match at home vs Dee Why, they will be looking to get their season back on track.
